Nahal Og

Nahal Og flows to the hills to the east of Jerusalem. From the point where it rises, on the slopes of the Mount of Olives and Mount Scopus, until it spills into the Dead Sea near Kalia, this stream covers some thirty kilometers, with a cumulative descent of 1,200 meters. This steep gradient helps to explain the deep gorges the water has created.

The baptism site stretches on 329 dunams belonging to the Greek Orthodox Church, and is the third holiest in the Christian world after the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.
